William May died on January 1, 2022. What sad news! Over more than three years he sent me nearly 20 poems that always lifted my spirits and with their tone they optimistically evoked God's presence and optimistically kindled my hope. You can read all of William May's poems at:
Do you hear it?
The 7th trump has sounded and the world will have to bow,
The sons of God are coming and shouting it’s over now.
Fall will soon be over and snow storms we will hear.
Perhaps a bible study to interest you with extra time you have found?
I love the poetry of William D. May of Chicago. He hadn't sent me anything in about a year and I asked for something new....which he just sent today, September 17, 2021
We are one year closer to the kingdom of God
We can’t despair that the worlds a mess,
We can’t be overcome with doubt and stress.
I have been praying this for years
But have come to see how it solves my fears.
I see them now, Parents and Grandparents, faces so dear.
Not like the ones we loved, I fear.
How much longer does the world have to wait?
It seems that the world around us is full of hate.
First comes Passover, it’s not for everyone.
It’s for baptized members, and it’s a solemn one.
