Two Trees by William May

The Two Trees are in Our Garden

There were two trees in the Garden of Eden,
One was to be for food and one to be seen but not eaten.

Adam ate fruit from the tree that was not for food and he lost his way.
He paid a penalty that affects us to this day.

Now we are in our Garden and those two trees are there for us to choose,
Every day we must make choices as to which one of those trees to use.

We are better off than Adam because God has mercy on you and me.
He gave his Son that may be forgiven if we slip and take a bite of the wrong tree.

Every day we must make that choice and our eternal life depends on the food we use.
Every thought and action brings us under that tree, So with God’s help let’s rightly choose.
