This report came to us today from Denise Dobson who is currently in the Philippines:
Greetings to the Brethren from JED SY and JONG PILAPIL! They both THANK YOU for your continued prayers and support for them.
Today, Friday, October 11, 2019, our friend and brother Christopher Villacote Betoy drove and accompanied us as we visited Jong and Jed in their respective prisons. As always, we came away inspired by their strong unwavering faith, the countless instances of God's intervention on their behalf, and their shining Christian examples throughout their unjust incarceration.
Jed asked us to share her letter with the brethren. Feel free to share this among the brethren. We are in a hotel in the Philippines without access to a scanner, so I photographed the letter and then typed the transcript below.

To my beloved Brethren,
“Grace to you and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.” Greetings from Galatians 1:3-5.
The book of Galatians is one of my favorites and the story of Apostle Paul has always encouraged me when I encounter the same experiences he had. Through the rough and tough times, His grace abounds so that I can stand in His purpose and be able to share with my fellow believers the HOPE that we have that we must by all means hold fast. The present evil age is unstoppable from the family, the society and everywhere, there is trouble. We can’t control what is happening but still the CHOICE is ours. As long as we put JESUS CHRIST and our FATHER as the center of our life, the inner being remains steadfast. Easier said than done but as long as we stay FOCUSED that it is not about us, it’s about HIM who called us for HIS purpose, we can triumph from whatever evil that comes our way.
Cherry [fellow believer] and I had a great Day of Atonement yesterday. Though in the afternoon she experienced hypertension but by God’s grace she was able to survive until sunset. Both of us are tested to the extreme and we were trying to evaluate our weaknesses, our failures and what is our progress in our walk with Christ. After those who were [previously studying] with us left, we came to realize it wasn’t about reading and studying our Bible, God is looking at our hearts and if we truly, sincerely follow His instructions, we will not get lost.
We want to thank every one of you who never cease to pray for us. We may not know or see each other personally but in spirit we are connected to each other. I am very grateful to all of you who diligently write me and inspire me and my brother Jong despite your hectic schedule. I want you to know your cards and letters are helping us a lot though we were not able to reply but we welcome so much your kindness. That is why we always look forward to the visit of Mr. & Mrs. Dobson where we can send our simple gifts for you. I hope to give to everyone but I will just let Mr. & Mrs. Dobson distribute. I only have a few souvenirs for now but I will try to make more and perhaps on their next visit, I can send again.
About my daughter, she is doing well. She’s in grade 11 and she plans to follow my course BS Accountancy and God willing become a Certified Public Accountant. She really wants me and Jong to go home and I told her to keep on praying and waiting because there is hope and in His time we will be together. It’s painful as a mother but I thank God for His comfort. Thank you again for your thoughts and prayers.
To all of you, may you have a blessed and wonderful Feast of Tabernacles and Last Great Day.
Your sister in Christ,
Jed Sy
