The condition of the world continues to heat up in many areas of the world. Central to the concerns now is the rhetoric coming out of the rogue nation of North Korea which is making threats of launching ICBM missiles at the U.S. Territory of Guam. U.S. Military officials believe the N. Koreans have developed nuclear capability and perhaps could mount a weapon on one of their missiles. Naturally, in the event of an attack, the United States must respond to protect the over 150,000 U.S. citizens on Guam.
President Trump warned North Korea about any such actions and said, "North Korea best not make any more threats to the United States. Mr. Trump told reporters at his golf club in Bedminster, N.J., where he is spending much of the month on a working vacation.  They will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen and promised "fire and fury" such as the world has never seen." North Korea's dictator, Kim Jong-un has threatened to launch against Guam in mid-August, but what will occur is unknown. The United States must practice restraint so as not to escalate the problem. However, if this the N. Korean dictator carries through he could ignite the next world war.
The United States has had the blessing of being secured by vast oceans making it more difficult for our enemies to attack. Now that missile technology has advanced even in some the poorer nations like North Korea and Iran the ocean barrier is no longer the protection it once was. Missiles can arrive any place in the U.S. in a matter of minutes.
We need to keep in mind the prophecy in Ezekiel 6:2, 6 which gives a warning to the governments of modern Israel that all our cities will be laid waste. Ezekiel also says in chapter five that only two-thirds of Israel will perish. The prophet doesn't specifically says how this will come to pass.
The world is a house of cards which is on the verge of collapse. One wonders how it has lasted as long as it has. The only reason it goes on is God has a great work He is doing with His people as He prepares His own people to take the reins of His government in a new world. (Daniel 2:44)
As Christians we keep our minds focused on the Kingdom of God striving to be prepared spiritually so we can escape this time of trouble which looms on the horizon, and stand before the King of kings and Lord of lords. (Luke 21:36)
What the Father and Jesus Christ are preparing for His people in the world tomorrow is beyond our minds to fully comprehend. Paul expressed in I Cor. 2:9, "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.
The greatness of what God has in store for His people should motivate us all the more to want to be there as we view troubles mounting in the world. Like the hymn we sing in services, "It won't be long now..."
