A Weekend with Ukrainian
Sabbatarians
in Portland, Oregon
August 27-29, 1999From Friday through Sunday, August 17-29th Beverly and I went down to Portland, Oregon while attending the Council of Elders' conference in Seattle. For services we went to the Ukrainian Sabbatarian church where Mark Shtefanio pastors. We were hospitably received by our brothers and sisters in the Faith. Both Howard Davis and I gave messages.
In the afternoon we attended the United Church of God services in Portland where nearly 250 brethren met. It was so good good to see so many brethren at one time. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Wilson treated us hospitably in their home and all the area elders got together at their home in southeast Portland on Saturday night.
On Sunday we had brunch at the home of Daniel and Galina Shtefanio and later in the afternoon went to the home of Kolya Hantiuk who is the pastor of the other Ukrainian Sabbatarian congregation. His congregation has 400 in attendance of which 250 are children. Last year more than 50 children were born in the church.
Below are some photos from our wonderful weekend.
