(Some of you may remember her as Joy Howe. She was married to Ron Howe. Ron, with Joy at his side, pastored several churches in the Worldwide Church of God. Ron met an untimely death several years ago. In recent years she was happily married to Jim Van Schuyver.)   Her pain level intensified tremendously during the last two days and she asked brethren to pray that God would be merciful and relieve her of the suffering. Thankfully, today her battle is over. She can say with the apostle Paul: “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing” (2 Timothy 4:7-8).   Funeral arrangements are pending. Please pray that the Father of all mercies and the God of all comfort will be with the family in this trying time. My  moms Breast cancer is in remission no active cancer cells) Praise be to God for his healing and wonderful blessings. It has been a long road, and we are so pleased with the progress that my mom has made over the past 8 months.   Please continue to pray that the cancer stays in remission  or that she is healed completely. Also she is having a lot of pain in her arm and shoulder area from the scar tissue (dead tissue from the cancer) this is causing a lot of problems with movement. She will need to get some kind of therapy to help the situation.   We are so thankful for all the cards and prayers from the brethren.   Thank You         Rhonda Smith         Houston UCG         Well-wishes may be sent to              Joy VanSchuyver             8408 Hasty Lane             Highlands TX 77562   October 24, 2007   Your prayers are requested for Joy (Howe) Van Schuyver, who has been waging a battle against breast cancer for over a year.  Though her primary cancer now appears to be under control, it has metastasized to a portion of her spine.  She recently has suffered nausea due to five days of “booster” radiation treatment and has lost a good deal of weight.  In addition, she has had difficulty maintaining appropriate blood sugar levels.  Her cancer markers have decreased – from 126 down to 50.  Please pray that God will comfort and strengthen Joy and her family during this difficult trial, bringing her cancer into remission and allowing her to regain her appetite.           Jim & Joy Van Schuyver         8408 Hasty Lane         Highlands, TX 77562
