Thelma Shappard had to undergo an emergency surgery two days ago for colon problems and is currently in stable condition at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes.  At the age of 92 she will take some time to recover and gain her strength.  The family hopes is that she will be able to return home and be as independent as she was before the surgery.
