UPDATED November 26, 2007

I am happy to report that I am in remission from my hairy cell leukemia condition. After my chemo, my first blood report showed no signs of leukemic cells and my complete blood count was in the preferred or normal range. Two weeks ago I had another blood test and it too was in the normal range. I must return every three months in this first year to take blood tests. I am still recuperating and gaining strength. Thanks very much for all of your prayers and if you would, please continue to pray that I will remain in remission.

Best regards to all,

From Jerold Aust, elder, Mobile, AL, and senior writer for “The Good News”:

Recently the medical oncologist took a bone marrow biopsy and, together with the pathologist, found that I have leukemia, a type called hairy cell leukemia. This kind of leukemia is treatable and can go into remission. I ask for your prayers that God will grant me a complete recovery.
