The Vancouver Columbian newspaper reported back on May 26, 2004 about young Patty Sexton's faith as an athlete who stuck by her beliefs about keeping the Sabbath.
She has gone on to a successful carreer and has now been given a special award by her Alma Mater for her example to the school. http://kubik.org/bridgette-beam-economics-08-green-spotlight-award-winner
Here is what we posted back in 2005
Bridgette Sexton, daughter of Rex and Patty Sexton...who is United Church of God's pastor in Olympia/Tacoma, Washington courageously stands up for her beliefs...
Below is an article on the sports page of the May 26, 2004 Columbian. This year (2005) she competed in the NCAA Track meet in Abilene. Bridgette came in 10th out of 16 in the preliminary 800 on Friday (May 27) with a time of 2:13.26. She did not make the final round, but we are very happy for her doing well in her first national meet. Thanks to everyone who sent encouraging notes. Have a great Sabbath!
