Jonathan & Ryan McClure presented an award for Excellence in Media Production

In an awards ceremony on November 15, 2002 Jonathan & Ryan McClure were each presented an award for Excellence in Media Production at the International Student Media Festival Contest at the "Association of Communications & Technology Convention" in Dallas Texas. They were given a hand carved bowl from Hawaii with a brass plaque attached and a certificate suitable for framing.
This was the first time in the history of the contest 2 siblings have each individually won an award.
They were chosen from 3675 entries from 22 different countries. The categories included still pictures, web sites, and video presentations. Both Jonathan and Ryan were competing in the Mixed Media Documentary category.
Jonathan's Documentary was:
"Indiana Jazz: Changing the Sights & Sounds of America"
Ryan's Documentary (He was assisted by fellow student Jeffery Travers) was:
"Rosa Parks: Sitting Down to Start a Revolution"
The judges both commented on the amount of time the boys had invested in research and collecting the information. Jonathan had interviewed Gloria Steinem, and Ryan had interviewed former Congressman Andrew Jacobs. They had over a hundred hours invested in their documentaries.
