Dr. Garvey Chilopora and Gloria Milanzi are Engaged in Malawi August 12, 2007 Wedding will follow....

Dr. Garvey Chilopora was engaged to Gloria Milanzi of Blantyre, Malawi in a colorful traditional family ceremony in late February 2007. Garvey is the son of Dr. Sam and Esther Chilopora and is furthering his studies in the specialty of gynecology in Capetown, South Africa. Gloria is working for an NGO called Medecines sans frontieres France dealing with HIV and antiretroviral therapy in Malawi. She lives in Blantyre and attends the United Church of God there. An August 12, 2007 wedding is planned in Malawi.
In Malawi the engagement ceremony carries the weight of the marriage ceremony itself. It symbolizes the bringing of two families together. Below from the left are Gloria's parents standing next to their future son-in-law Garvey. Gloria stands by Garvey's parents Esther and Dr. Sam Chilopora.
