Our Visit to Big Sandy, Texas March 6, 2010

Posted March 12, 2010

My wife Bev and I were invited to the Big Sandy, Texas congregation before going to the increasingly popular Ft. Worth Boot Scoot fundraiser for the LifeNets Developing Nations Scholarship Fund.  This is a fund that provides a higher education for about 40 young people in the United Church of God in developing countries.  It's by far LifeNets most cost-effective program.

Ken and Kathy Treybig invited us to stay with them before the Sabbath and to speak to the Big Sandy congregation.  They also showed us around the Big Sandy church building.

We thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience, not the least of which was seeing lots of people we had known from years ago.  We met with Mr. and Mrs. Shannon Lucas, Mr. and Mrs. McCullough, Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Neff, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Elliott.  It was really wonderful for us to see these people with whom we've had connections in various ways in our lives.

Here are a few photos of our March 6, 2010 visit....
