Luule Lepik had prepared a sumptuous fare -- including borshch, beef cutlets prepared Russian style, and a fabulous strawberry cake. The mood was festive, and everyone went home in anticipation of the two services that were to take place the next day.
Victor spoke about prayer at his first sermon. Then we were treated to another meal by Luule -- we homemade chicken alphabet soup with chicken for the main course. We discussed all sorts of things. They really appreciated the sermon tapes from the United States that are translated into Russian. They listen to them more than once.
After lunch, we had a question and answer session. The questions ranged from how to answer others, how do your beliefs differ from those of others, to what is a Christian. That night, we went out to Ruutli Kelder for a meal with everyone.
Yesterday, we took two vehicles and went touring the Estonian countryside. We saw the agricultural museum, and then drove to a place called Heaven's Echos in Estonia where large vertical cliffs form one bank of a river. After this, we went to the largest "mountain" in Estonia, but this small mound is the tallest peak in all of Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia. And last of all, we went to a German style castle, we we looked around and ate our pre-atonement meal.
Now it is Atonement morning. We are awaiting services. After the sun sets we will go to a restaurant which translates as Gunpowder Cellar -- and tomorrow the Kubiks leave for Tallinn.
