"I arrived back home safely from France last night. My trip was very successful and could not have gone better! I had a great time in Estonia even though it was only for a few days. I had such a good feeling going back to Tartu and being with Imbi, Leili, Helga, and Ell. I really got to know them better and I left feeling like we were family.
"We met in one of the rooms on the 4th floor at the Pallas Hotell for the Sabbath. The service lasted about an hour and a half. I took my time and found a good rhythm with Imbi translating. Helga read all the verses for us. Overall, the message seemed to have been well received. There were questions afterwards about how the books of the Bible were canonized. Then, we watched Leili's video from the Feast of Tabernacles of the dancers at the Shakespeare Theatre."Afterwards, we went to a Chinese restaurant (except Helga who had to catch the bus) where we shared an excellent meal and even better conversation. I really got to know them all on a more personal level. We were there for over 4 hours. We parted around 10 pm and I watched the fireworks from my hotel room until about half past midnight."
Chad Demarest of Baltimore, Maryland recently visited the members of the United Church of God in Tartu, Estonia on Sabbath, December 31, 2005. Despite frigid temperatures outside the warmth of friendship inside was strong. The group shared a Bible study on the source and types of true joy and afterwards an excellent evening meal. The group included Leili Liblik, Imbi Kuusksalu, Helga Magi, Ell Visnapuu and Chad Demarest.
